Tending the Heart~
Practices for Difficult Times
There are times when our hearts feel heavy—weighted by burdens, worry, or grief. In these moments, life can feel too hard, too overwhelming. When we are in states of despair, disappointment, or heartache, we often retreat into old patterns—patterns of fear, anger, or shutting down. We may withdraw from ourselves and others, feeling as though the pain is too big to face.
But it is precisely during these times that our hearts need gentle protection, space, and time to heal.
In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn three simple yet powerful practices to soothe, protect, and bring the heart back into balance. Each can be practiced on its own or woven together as one complete heart-centered meditation.
✨ Viloma Pranayama (Interrupted Breath)
You will be guided through this calming yogic breathing practice that gently pauses the breath during inhalation and exhalation. Viloma helps regulate the nervous system, quiet mental chatter, and create spaciousness within. Its slow, mindful rhythm invites a sense of steadiness and ease, supporting emotional balance during difficult times.
🪷 Padma Mudra with the Bija Mantra YAM
Known as the Lotus Mudra, Padma Mudra symbolizes the unfolding of the heart and the blossoming of compassion. With the heels of the hands together and the fingers opening like the petals of a lotus flower, this mudra encourages openness, trust, and connection. When paired with the bija mantra YAM (pronounced "yum"), it becomes a powerful heart-centered practice that supports emotional healing and invites us to give and receive love more freely.
🌟 Golden Zipper Meditation
This gentle, intuitive meditation was gifted to me by my guides. It offers a sacred space for the heart to release its burdens and restore inner peace. Simple yet profound, this practice helps shield the heart from overwhelm and invites deep balance.
Let this workshop be a loving reset for your heart—one breath, one gesture, one moment of lightness at a time.
